Bodmin and Bodmin Moor is an ideal base for your Cornwall holiday or Cornwall short-break. Bodmin, Cornwall is just 30 minutes from the stunning north and south coast Cornish beaches, is at the gateway to the traffic-free, walking and cycling route - the Camel Trail, is a stone throw from the world-famous Eden Project and has two impressive houses – Pencarrow and the National Trust’s Lanhydrock – right on its doorstep. Not to mention it is at the south-western edge of the windswept, undiscovered landscape that is Bodmin Moor with its granite tors, panoramic views, walking opportunities and rugged moorland villages.
Shire Hall is on Mount Folly, and is Grade 11* Listed building. Shire Hall once housed the Assize Courts and remained the County Court until 1988. It was built in 1837-38. In 1988, the Courts moved to Truro and Shire Hall remained empty until in 1999. It was fully restored and re-opened by the Queen in June 2000 as part of the town’s Millenium Celebrations. The Shire Hall now houses Bodmin's Tourist Information Centre and newly renovated Upstairs Gallery hosting monthly Art Exhibitions with local Artists plus interesting attractions such as the 'Charlotte Dymond Court Room Experience'.
